Agreement
By using ToolShore Music, at music.toolshore.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms apply to this site only. The main ToolShore site may have its own terms.
What the site offers
The site provides free online instruments and music tools, such as a piano, a drum kit, a metronome and a tuner, together with articles that explain them. It is provided for personal, educational and non-commercial use, and for ordinary creative use of the sounds you make with it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- try to disrupt the site, overload its servers or break its security;
- use automated tools to copy large parts of the site or to put an unreasonable load on it;
- use the site for anything unlawful or harmful, or in a way that infringes the rights of others;
- pretend that the site or its content was made by someone else.
Your own music
You own what you create. The sounds, patterns and files you make with the instruments, including WAV files exported from the music maker, are yours to use, including in your own projects. We do not claim ownership of them, and we do not store them. The instruments are simple imitations and they do not contain recordings of any copyrighted performance.
If you play a piece of music that someone else wrote, the rights to that piece remain with its owners, and it is your responsibility to follow the law where you share or sell it.
Our content and intellectual property
The text, design, code and layout of this site belong to ToolShore or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may link to any page. You may not copy, republish or sell the articles, designs or code without written permission, except for short quotations with a link back to the source, and as the law allows.
No guarantee of sound quality or accuracy
The sounds are generated in your browser and are only imitations of real instruments. Pitch, timing and sound quality depend on your browser, device, speakers or headphones and microphone. The tuner and the metronome are provided as practice aids. They are not professional measuring equipment, and we do not promise that their readings or timing are exact or suitable for any particular purpose. The articles are written to be helpful and accurate, but they are general information and not professional music tuition or advice.
Hearing and equipment safety
Please keep your volume at a comfortable level, especially with headphones, since some sounds can be sharp or sudden. Stop if you feel any discomfort. Keep a safe distance between your microphone and speakers when using the tuner.
Availability and changes
The site is provided free of charge and may change, be interrupted or be removed at any time without notice. We may add, change or remove instruments and features, and we do not promise that the site will always be available or free of errors.
Advertising and third-party links
The site may show advertisements and may link to other websites. We do not control third-party sites or advertisers and are not responsible for their content, products or practices. Dealing with advertisers is between you and them. See the privacy policy for how advertising works on this site.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted operation, to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, ToolShore and its owner are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, income or profit, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms limits any right or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
